Product Owner

 

At Levels Beyond we are looking for a Product Owner to be responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the team backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team. This position is not location dependent and can be performed remote, limited travel may be requested to work collaboratively with the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:

  • Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet software expectations
  • Manage the product development team to create a strong end product
  • Nurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
  • Determine roadmaps for products in the creation phase
  • Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process
  • Schedule and lead agile meetings to manage deliverables, identify issues and fixes for projects
  • Capture customer requirements and ideas by writing (or helping others write) stories and Enablers
  • Works with the System Architect to ensure Enablers are properly prioritized so as not to mortgage the future of the architecture
  • Verifies that stories are in the proper format, contain valid confirmation (aka acceptance criteria), and are in line with the Program vision and scope. This includes any necessary design details, business rules, NFRs, etc.
  • Helps remove or escalate obstacles to Product Management
  • Meets regularly with Product Management (e.g. PO Sync) to keep stakeholders informed on how much incremental value has been generated

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Product Owner in the industry
  • Experience as a Scrum Master highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process
  • In-depth understanding of industry market conditions and trends
  • Successful track record of developing products within deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies
  • Team spirit and good communication abilities

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a salary-based position with a pay range expected between 80k - 110k annually, based on experience and skill set, plus equity in the company (pay for other locations may vary).
